A high-level Turkish delegation led by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, accompanied by the defense minister and the head of intelligence, arrived in Damascus to follow up on the March 10, 2025 agreement, which Ankara says is directly linked to Turkey’s national security priorities.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the talks will also address security risks in southern Syria, particularly amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
Earlier, Fidan warned the Syrian Democratic Forces against further delays in implementing the agreement to merge into the Syrian army, stressing that continued stalling threatens Syria’s national unity, and cautioning that patience among concerned parties is running out.
